《十二勇士 战国封神传》是以日本战国时代为基础所创作的奇幻世界“大和”为游戏舞台，叙述流浪剑士的主角为了帮助葵家的公主 缇安 对抗尾张的野心家 政长，而出发寻找持有12生肖精灵神器的勇者们，为了阻止政长的野心，封印危害世间的魔神而战。游戏的类型为回合制的模拟角色扮演，玩家将进行包括地图移动、剧情冒险、本阵调度以及战场战斗等不同的游戏模式。游戏中并加入可强化伙伴战斗能力的“加油（应援）”，以及抓准时机按下按钮即可强化攻击力的“连段（Combo）”等独特的系统。
